Supervisor, Real Alternatives Transitional Housing

The Supervisor reports to the Director and serves as a member of Hayward Leadership Team.  In collaboration with the Director, the Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all daily operations of the Real Alternatives (RA) transitional housing program and supervises program staff and services through a clinical lense. The Supervisor is responsible for the initial screening and management of referrals to the RA program.


  • Responsible for all aspects of the daily operations of the RA transitional housing program.
  • Monitor the progress of clients through supervision and team meetings with program staff.
  • Co-facilitate bi monthly RA Clinical Case Consultation Group.
  • Prepare and submit monthly reports on program service, outcomes, and census
  • Responsible for quality and completion of Medi-Cal documentation and adherence to Medi-Cal guidelines.
  • Responsible adherence to Community Care Licensing regulations.
  • Oversee and track all referrals to RA program including following up with referral for additional documentation, completing intake interviews, maintaining waitlists, and collaborating with applicants’ support persons.
  • Oversee clients’ Medi-Cal eligibility and resolution of problems with Medi-Cal coverage.
  • Complete all intake and discharge paperwork for new clients and terminating clients
  • Attend county meetings and work collaboratively with DSS, probation, and other community agencies.
  • Responsible for the recruitment, hiring, training and supervision of Youth Specialists.
  • Regular On-Call duties.


  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college, Masters in Counseling or Social Work is preferred.
  • At least one year of supervisory or program management experience preferred.
  • At least one year of residential, milieu, or wraparound experience preferred.
  • Experience with Transition Age Youth strongly preferred.
  • Fingerprint Clearance through CA DOJ and FBI, or other mandated entity.
  • Must have operational and programmatic experience managing a non-profit organization.
  • A valid California driver's license, personal automobile for use on the job, insurable by SHS’ insurance policy based on DMV record and personal vehicle insurance.
