Mental Health Record Data Analyst (EHR)

The Data Administrator is primarily responsible for providing support around the agency’s collection, analysis, and management of program data, and contributes to building and maintaining an organizational culture of using data to improve outcomes and impact.  This includes working with management to develop, implement, manage and train staff on data collection, and responsibility for reporting, assessment and evaluation of outcomes data. This position is also responsible for the overall administration and management of the agency’s electronic health record (EHR) database including TIER and AJWI.


  • Ensure the integrity of program and outcomes data through management and oversight of data systems, methods, tools, analyses and reports
  • Manage both small and large multi-faceted data-related technology projects with limited resources
  • Implement and manage large databases to collect, analyze, report and use data to inform and improve client outcomes
  • Develop and implement comprehensive standards, policies and procedures for the efficient, accurate and timely collection of data including client demographics and services
  • Train staff and management on data collection practices, tools, and procedures and develop internal controls to ensure data quality and integrity
  • Develop and manage EHR database based on user needs
  • Develop new reports to measure agency clinical outcomes and facilitate continuous quality improvement, particularly focused on aligning the TIER and AJWI systems
  • Resolves TIER Support Request Issues and provides ongoing training to address those needs.
  • Provides formal training to staff regarding TIER and other data tools such as Excel.
  • Develop, implement and manage data analysis and reporting tools for outcomes and other program metrics. Document and perform procedures for data preparation including data cleaning, standardization, and analysis


  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree with minimum of 3 years’ experience; preferably in the nonprofit field
  • Preferred: Masters in the following disciplines: Public Health/Administration, Management Information Systems, or Business Administration
  • A valid California driver's license, personal automobile for use on the job, insurable by SHS’ insurance policy based on DMV record and personal vehicle insurance.
  • Electronic Health Record software experience preferred.
