YouThrive Youth Specialist, Bilingual 

YouThrive is a youth development program that works with young people 11 - 18 year olds who are referred for behavioral issues, low academic performance, gang activity or substance use by school counselors, law enforcement and parents.  YouThrive also provides services to community organizations including trainings on youth development and youth behavior.  YouThrive group sessions focus on engagement to education, accountability, managing anger, reflecting on attitudes, cultural values and behaviors, lifestyle choices and restorative practices. YouThrive is delivered in select community based sites and schools across Sonoma and Marin County. The program also provides youth an opportunity to earn experiential learning through a variety of trips and events including beach days, ballgames or trail hikes, whitewater rafting, snowboarding, and wilderness camping.


  • Cultivate, maintain and coordinate relationships with community partners including organizers, schools, businesses, community-based organizations, colleges, hospitals and governmental social service departments.
  • Conduct direct care services including 1:1 interventions, group services, case management, trainings and workshops.
  • Assist with evaluation activities through the tracking of all program features of YouThrive in order to analyze and continuously develop the program.
  • Research current events, policies, and legislation regarding Youth Development, Gang Prevention, Mental Health and the Latinx Community.
  • Assist with recruiting, training and supervision of community interns.

Outreach and Group Facilitation:

  • Conduct intake meeting with newly referred youth and their families.
  • Facilitate YouThrive curriculum to groups of youth, ages 11 to 18 who have committed a school infraction.
  • With assistance of Program Manager, plan and conduct quarterly day trips and/or overnight trips.
  • Provide quality communications to community members, volunteers and participants.
  • Develop and coordinate outreach opportunities such as presentations that educate the greater community about YouThrive. 
  • Research and prepare 3-4 Facebook/Instagram postings per week for YouThrive events.
  • Assist Program Manager with the development of all branding.
  • Update social media posts with photos and written content.


  • Associates Degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred in social sciences; psychology, sociology, criminal justice, public health, or social work.
  • Must be bilingual in Spanish, conversational, written.
  • Minimum of 21 years of age w/valid driver's license, proof of auto insurance and reliable car for work as needed.
  • Minimum of two years experience working with children, youth and adults in groups, workshops, or case management.
  • Minimum of two years experience with community relations and outreach and/or program development and implementation.
  • Self-directed and detail-oriented.
  • Demonstrate organization, strong communication, group facilitation and public speaking skills.
